South West Peninsula LRN
Prof. Ann Millward
Clinical Lead and Consultant
Working in collaboration with the Western Comprehensive LRN - Hosted by the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Trust
The SW Peninsula Diabetes Research Network has been in existence since the beginning of April 2006.
It is led by Prof Ann Millward – academic Consultant from Plymouth, with support from Dr Phil Evans and Prof Andrew Hattersley, and is managed by Rosemary Sowden. It is not a funding body itself but its infrastructure can be used to support studies.
The Network is providing additional research staff in the existing Diabetes clinical trials teams in Exeter, Torbay, Truro, Plymouth and Barnstaple. These teams are working on well designed trials and studies to benefit those with Diabetes or at risk of developing Diabetes, drawing on patients from both primary and secondary care. The portfolio of trials and studies will grow significantly as capacity is developed.
Working in collaboration with the Western Comprehensive Local Research Network (WCLRN) we now cover research sites in Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, Yeovil, Bournemouth, Dorchester, Taunton and Weston super Mare.
