North West LRN
The North West Diabetes Local Research Network (NW DLRN) was established in 2006.
The NW DLRN covers the Greater Manchester and Merseyside areas, and is starting to work in Lancashire and Cumbria.
Based at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, the network is directed by Dr Martin Gibson and is made up of a multidisciplinary team that supports diabetes research across the region.
The NW DLRN works collaboratively with a number of partner organisations, including: The University of Manchester’s Institute of Health Sciences; and the North West Diabetes and Obesity Research Network (DORN).
The Network’s overall aim is to increase research into diabetes across both primary and secondary care.
