Participate in a Clinical Trial or Research Study

It is vital that the DRN recruits participants to the trials and studies that are being performed across the network. The DRN is likely to be looking for people:

  • with type 1 diabetes
  • with type 2 diabetes
  • with gestational diabetes, or with previous gestational diabetes
  • at risk of developing diabetes
  • without diabetes, to act as ‘healthy’ comparisons

Without people volunteering to participate in clinical trials and research studies, clinical research simply would not happen. It is vital for progress in healthcare that patients, their carers and family members continue to support clinical trials and research studies by volunteering to participate.

To find out more about what it is like to participate and what happens during research studies and clinical trials, please visit our sister website Diabetes Research Networking which has video clips of participants and researchers talking about their experiences.
