Research Teams

User Involvement workshops

We held two user involvement workshops this year in Truro and Torbay, where people with diabetes and others who are interested in diabetes research, attended to learn about and discuss new ideas for diabetes research. We hope to hold two further events in February 2009; if you would be interested in being involved please contact Alison Foden, at the Network office on 01392 406984.

We held a very successful ‘follow-on’ diabetes research workshop for people in Exeter in February 2009. This was attended by people interested in diabetes research who had previously attended one of our introductory workshops. We were joined by three researchers from the Exeter Clinical Research Facility, to explore the realities and difficulties of research study design. The workshop then looked at the possible opportunities for personal involvement in projects.
