Patient and Public Involvement
People tend to think that involvement in research means particpation in a clinical trial. But there are other ways of getting involved…
Patient and public involvement in research is about people working alongside researchers and becoming actively involved in the research cycle.
(The Diabetes Research Involvement Group) has been set up so patients and the public from the NW London region can be involved in the activities of the network.
We are committed to giving people the chance to have their say and influence the research direction of the NW London Diabetes Local Research Network.

Participating in a clinical trial or research study
Without people volunteering to particpate in clinical trials and research studies, clinical research simply would not happen.
It is vital for progress in healthcare that patients, their carers and family members continue to support clinical trials and research studies by volunteering to participate.
If you would like to find out more about what it is like to particpate and what happens during clinical trials and research studies, please contact:
